Interview

Rainald Schumacher: Let us start with a simple question: Do either of you drink Ketel One?
Wade Guyton: Actually I do drink Ketel One, but only since we started using the advertisements in our work. I think it's important to be a good consumer. I like to give back.
Kelley Walker: I drink Bourbon.
Rainald Schumacher: Does the Ketel One company pay you? No, seriously, have you ever been approached by the company since you started using their typeface and parts of their advertising campaigns? Kelley Walker: Not that I am aware of. Wade and I have discussed making a billboard using their advertisement. It would look identical to their existing billboards and magazine ads. The difference would be the static added through us ripping out the magazine advertisement, scanning it and blowing it up to billboard size. Richard Prince might have done something similar with his cowboy images.
