Bart Dijkman
*1959, Lives and works in Amsterdam [NL]; Dijkman completed his visual and audio art studies at the Academy of Art in Arnhem in 1986. He then worked as a musician and componist; in 1992 he founded Bart Dijkman Producties. At the same time he created independent video works, showing them at several international festivals. He characterizes his recent work as short observations, »uncut takes«, of himself as well as others. To invigorate and magnify »the little suffering«, he provides uneasy »handicaps« [like stuttering and phobia] with humor and irony and uses duration and sound as dramatizing elements.
