art critics: NY LA artist in residence 2006
Art Omi Critic-In-Residence 2006 Critic-in-Residence, Kóan Jeff Baysa Kóan Jeff Baysa is a curator, writer, art collector, practicing physician, and Whitney Independent Study Program Curatorial alumnus. A contributing writer for New York Arts Magazine and the online publication Flavorpill, he has written for Art Asia Pacific and is the editor of the online art magazine art::pulse. He has curated exhibitions for the London Biennal, the LA International Biennial, and recently organised shows in Beijing, Dublin, London, Manila and for the United Nations. He is on the boards of The Vera List Center for Art and Politics at The New School University, Art Omi International Artist Colony, the Asian American Art Centre, and The Center for Photography at Woodstock. He has just been named the Head, NY Curatorial Office and Director of International Projects at MoCA Beijing, a new museum of contemporary art in China. Dr. Baysa is based in New York and Los Angeles. 2006 Critic-in-Residence, Raul Zamudio Raúl Zamudio is a New York-based curator and critic and corresponding editor for Art Nexus, correspondent for Flash Art, and contributor to Contemporary. He has organized many exhibitions in the U.S. and abroad both as an independent and as Curatorial Director at White Box, New York, New York. He has published extensively on contemporary art in books and museum and gallery exhibition catalogs and his other writings have appeared in PART, Zingmagazine, Estilo, Journal of the West, Tema Celeste, Art/Culture Seoul, Art Notes, Bridge and Framework: the Finnish Art Review. He is also the host of the talk show Art after Dark produced by the Artist Network, New York, New York.
