biography
Wolfgang Muench Born 1963 in Karlsruhe, Germany Studied Fine Arts in a pre-computer era at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart, Germany and at the University for Applied Arts in Vienna, Austria. In 1996, he joined the ZKM Center for Art and Media Karlsruhe, Germany and has been involved since then in various projects as artist and software developer at the Institute for Visual Media and the Institute for Music and Acoustics. Lecturer for Interactive Media at Merz Academy for Applied Arts Stuttgart, Germany from 1997 to 2002. Artist in residence at ZKM Karlsruhe in 2002, TAS The Art School / Hong Kong Art Centre in 2003 and IAMAS Institute for Advanced Media Arts and Science Ogaki, Japan in 2003. He participated in numerous international Media Arts exhibitions, festivals and conferences, including ARS ELECTRONICA (Linz), EMPAC Experimental Media and Performing Arts Center (Troy, New York), ICC Intercommunication Center (Tokyo), ZKM Center for Art and Media (Karlsruhe), MIRAIKAN National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation (Tokyo), YCAM Yamaguchi Center for Art and Media (Yamaguchi), KAMEX Korea Amuse World Game Expo (Seoul), SONY Center / Music Box (Berlin), PHAENO VW Interactive Science Center (Wolfsburg), VIPER International Festival for Film, Video and New Media (Basel) and LOISIUM Museum for Wine (Langenlois).
