   lebt und arbeitet in Hoosick, New York

Seit Ende der 70er Jahre beschäftigt sich Jenny Holzer mit der Eindringlichkeit der modernen Werbemedien und macht sich diese gleichzeitig für die Distribution ihrer Ideen zunutze. Generell sind die Berücksichtigung des öffentlichen Raums und des ihn bevölkernden Publikums zentrale Aspekte der Arbeit Holzers, die die Aufforderung, die täglichen Werbebotschaften nicht unreflektiert auf sich einwirken zu lassen, medienkritisch juxtapositioniert.
