A laboratory like a top-security wing. Silvia and Reto live in the underground and fight against the simple-mindedness of global advertising campaigns. Their models are bombardier beetles, which eject an exploding secretion when they are in danger, and fireflies, which imitate the flashing frequencies of other species of larvae to lure them and then eat them.
On the other side: Parymetrics is a smart start-up company which lives from smuggling small programs via the net into the operating systems of unsuspecting users, enabling it to screen for unconscious desires and check out customer profiles and creditworthiness. When Silvia and Reto suspect that an outsider has accessed their computer, they take up the fight. With the threat of data loss and discovery, the aim is to record the most important defence strategies on an analogue tape.
In the ZKM there emerges a test set-up for two hunters. The two lone warriors use household appliances and foodstuffs to put together acoustic weapons, they manipulate toasters and make gherkins glow, breed granary weevils which can only be heard using special microphones and drill house long-horn beetles to crunch up hoardings within two hours.
The radio play was created in collaboration with Robert Schoen (editor), David Fitzgerald (sets), Mathias Wendelin (lighting).
