The short life of a young man within suburban California - told through a collaged mass of individual accounts. The seemingly auto-biographical audio is set to a wide array of self-shot footage, drawings, found imagery (from fashion cut-outs to Jehova's Witness catalogues) and downloaded Internet material. While the audio leads the listener through a highly subjective, windingly fragmented but chronologically ordered history, the visuals line up almost illustratively at times, yet retain an openness that invites to create multiple associations and alternative narratives. Through a complex mixture of associations, forced connections and obvious conclusions, Aaron Davenport raises questions of authenticity and experience.
