2. Awards / Nominations
ANIE Award 2012. The Capurro Fiek Foundation for Information Ethics together with the University of Pretoria had the pleasure to present the second ANIE (Africa Network for Information Ethics) Award to Prof. Stephen Mutula (University of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa) for his outstanding support of information ethics in Africa at the third Africa Conference for Information Ethics (Pretoria, 5-7 September 2012).
May 2012. We congratulate Mr Coetzee Bester (South Africa) for his nomination as Director of the African Centre of Excellence for Information Ethics (ACEIE) hosted by the Department of Information Science, University of Pretoria, South Africa.
February 2012. 3M Teaching Fellowship Winners: Toni Samek, School of Library & Information Studies, University of Alberta, has been honoured by the Society of Teaching and Learning in Higher Education as one of ten Canada's best teachers.
