The artist took her BA at the University of California, Berkeley, and completed her Masters degree in architecture at Columbia University. Kurgan explores the interfaces between building, electronic media, and information technologies. In addition to a design practice in New York she has taught at Yale University, the University of Pennsylvania and the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Currently she is Assistant Professor at the Princeton University School of Architecture as well as Fellow of the Old Dominion Faculty in the Humanities Council at Princeton.
