[bio] Chip Lord

Chip Lord arbeitet seit 1971 mit dem Medium Video, zunächst als Partner im alternativen Medienkollektiv »Ant Farm« und seit 1978 als unabhängiger Künstler und Produzent. Mit »Ant Farm« produzierte er die Videokunstklassiker »Media Burn« und »The Eternal Frame«. Während seine ersten Arbeiten dokumentarischen Charakter haben, verschob sich seit 1984 der Schwerpunkt hin zu einer experimentellen Narration mit »Easy Living«, »Ballplayer«, und seinem ersten längeren Band »Motorists«. Er erarbeitete sowohl Videobänder als auch Videoinstallationen. Chip Lord ist assoziierter Professor für Theaterkünste an der Unversity of California, Santa Cruz. 1997 war er Gastkünstler im iEAR Studio an der Renesselaer Polytechnic University, Troy, wie auch am Institut für TV und Film an der Temple University in Philadelphia.
