Das Institute of Applied Autonomy [USA] wurde 1998 als ein anonymes Forschungs- und Entwicklungskollektiv von KünstlerInnen, IngenieurInnen, SchriftstellerInnen und AktivistInnen gegründet. IAA betreibt Nachforschungen in den Bereichen des öffentlichen Raums, der Ausdrucksfreiheit, der elektronische Überwachung und entwickelt dazu technologische Lösungen, um AktivistInnen bei real-world Auftritten und subversiven Performances zu unterstützen
