271 POSITIVISM Positivism in law, e.g. , excludes alternatives and sometimes even any evaluation of its own norms. It was challenged by Husserl early on: now, much more recently, it has become fashionable to challenge it. Philosophers such as Wartofsky, Feyerabend, Lakatos, concerned with the place of science in society, have challenged positivism.
