259 PARADIGM The logical precursor of the concept of a theoretically linked community can be found in Kuhn's conception of the paradigm and his subsequently revised disciplinary matrix model. What we have is an example of a macro-communal organization schema, central to which is the idea of communal sharing of exemplars, values, beliefs, etc. A paradigm governs not a subject matter, but rather a group of practitioners.
